This explains a large part of tension that led up to the split last year.
(Not all - some of the tension was between X server developers and Desktop 
developers, and some may have been personal).

If XFree86 wishes to remain developer-oriented, it should welcome
the fork and be happy that someone else is making a customer-oriented
product from our work (but should not be upset if we don't recognise
(parts of) the result).
