Hi;
I am just an end user, but I just wanted to say I find the license change is
consistent and absolutely acceptable. XFree86 still classifies as both
"opensource" and "free" software, so there's no point in anyone (and mostly
non-developers) complaining.
If people really find the GPL-incompatibility an issue then perhaps the GPL
should be modified to permit the harmless advertisement clause, but meanwhile,
software authors should reflect about the code they are actually using and just
simply add an exception clause as explained in the GNU FAQ. That's a subject for
another list though.
