Is this how it usually goes? Do you remember an example where it
happened this way? If you can give me one I can look thru my archives
of xpert@ or now devel@ and see what went wrong.

Aren't there many patches, implementations of concepts etc. that
either fall thru the cracks or are rejected by either the maintainers
or Linus himself?
